RUNSWICK – The 115th annual Pop Erswell Golf Tournament at Brunswick Golf Club is now taking tee times for four-person teams to play on either May 5 or May 6.
Tee times range from 7:30 a. m. to 1: 30 p. m. each day. Arguably the oldest running golf tournament in the United States, the Pop Erswell (formerly called the Patriots Day Tournament) was always known as the opening event for the Maine golf season. The format for the event is four- person best- ball with prizes being awarded for team and individual gross and net.
The tournament is open to the public with entry and greens fee costing only $40. To sign up, call 725-8224.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
