RICHMOND — The Main Street Streetscape project, funded by a Community Development Block Grant, was scheduled to start Monday.
According to the town’s website, Ray Labbe and Sons, the contractor, will work on the project from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. Monday through Thursday.
The project is located along a portion of Main Street (Route 197) from Williams Street to Front Street (Route 24) in downtown Richmond. The work involves installation of 33 street lights (poles and fixtures provided by the town), along with underground conduit and wiring, junction boxes, light pole bases, electrical service connections and control panels, and replacement of shrubs.
The work also includes construction of approximately 475 linear feet of new Americans With Disabilities Act compliant asphalt sidewalk segments, predominately with vertical granite curbing, along portions of Main Street from Alexander Reed Road to Williams Street and associated construction of paved shoulders, paved driveway aprons, installation of shrubs and street trees, and minor storm drainage improvements.
