TOPSHAM — Topsham Public Library on Foreside Road will host an artists reception for “Joy of the Lens” from 1 p.m. to 3 p.m. April 14.
“The show features original photographs by year-round Maine residents, both amateur and professional,” a library release states. “Prizes will be awarded in categories including “Nature and Landscapes/ Seascapes,” “People,” “Animals,” “Digital Darkroom” and “Details and Macro.”
Music will be provided by Bill and Kate Gray on violin and guitar. Refreshments will be served.
The exhibit will hang in the library’s Crooker Gallery from April 10 through May 12. Visitors can vote for their favorite work for the People’s Choice Award, to be presented at the close of the exhibit.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
