BATH — A 24-month-old child was taken to Maine Medical Center Monday afternoon after falling from the second-story window of an apartment on Windjammer Way.

Bath rescue personnel responded at 1:44 p.m. Monday to the scene, where they found the child back in the apartment with the mother, Bath Fire Chief Steve Hinds said today.

The child apparently did not fall all the way to the ground, he said, but landed on a landing. Hinds said he was not sure of the circumstances surrounding the fall.

The child’s condition was not available today.
