AUGUSTA (AP) — A sendoff ceremony for soldiers being deployed to Afghanistan is set for this week.
The Maine National Guard says the ceremony will honor four soldiers and their families who will deploy in support of Operation Enduring Freedom. They serve with the 1968th Contingency Contracting Team, which contracts for supplies, services and construction necessary to support humanitarian and combat missions in Afghanistan.
The sendoff ceremony will be held Tuesday in the State House.
