BRUNSWICK — Members of the Portland Symphony Orchestra (PSO) are planning a musical mission to outer space for the March KinderKonzert series.
“The PSO Brass Quintet will lead the audience to a galaxy far, far away in a dozen KinderKonzert performances in five Maine communities beginning (Monday),” a PSO release states.
KinderKonzerts are designed for children between 4 and 7 years old. They aim to help children explore the different families of musical instruments and experience live classical music performances. Attendees are encouraged to sing, dance, wiggle, clap and have fun listening and learning about music and instruments.
Local performances are scheduled for 9:30 a.m. and 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at Crooker Theater in Brunswick High School on Maquoit Road.
Tickets cost $4 per person. For additional information, reservations and ticketing information, visit www.portlandsymphony.org, email education@portlandsymphony.org or call 773-6128.
