KENTS HILL — Dakota Bowie and Tyler Leet scored two goals each as the Cony High School boys ice hockey team downed Mt. Ararat/Lisbon 5-2 in regular season finale Eastern A hockey action on Thursday.
The Eagles finished 5-12-1 and out of the playoff field, while the Rams improved to 14-4 and will face Maranacook/Hall-Dale/Winthrop in the Eastern A quarterfinals on Wednesday.
Zach Pratt and Thomas Gross each scored a goal for Mt. Ararat/Lisbon, with Bru Abreu, Ben Bishop and Evan Tome picking up an assist each.
In goal, Eagles netminder Zach O’Connor had 32 saves, while Cony’s Matt Swan turned aside 19 shots.
“I think we can maintain at least where we are at,” said Mt. Ararat/Lisbon coach Mike Bishop, who loses seniors Ian Pinette, Justin Grant, Pratt, Josh Richards, Shauna Williams and Gross to graduation. “We are losing some good players and envision a few players coming into high school next season that can help us.”
