BOSTON — Junior guard and former Morse High School standout Alex Kee scored 18 points, leading the University of Southern Maine men’s basketball team to a 71-60 non-conference victory over Wentworth Institute on Thursday.
Jeremy Jackson chipped in 14 points for the Huskies.
Kee was seven of 11 from the field. He scored eight of his 16 first-half points during a game- deciding 14- 1 USM run as the Huskies jumped out to a 21-6 lead and never looked back.
On Saturday at North Dartsmouth, Mass., Kee’s 14 points and seven rebounds were not enough in an 84-69 Little East Conference loss to UMass Dartmouth.
Justin Pulver paced the hosts with 25 points as four Corsairs scored in double figures.
The Huskies finished their season with an 11-14 mark, 3- 11 in the conference. USM failed to make the postseason tournament.
