HERMON ( AP) — Maine State Police say one of the two men shot after allegedly trying to force their way into an apartment in central Maine has died.
Police say 30- year- old Robert Dellairo and 19-yearold Philip McIntyre drove themselves to a Bangor hospital after being shot Thursday morning trying to get into a Hermon home.
Dellairo died. An autopsy is scheduled.
McIntyre was treated and released, and is now in the custody of the Penobscot County sheriff.
Police are still trying to piece together the circumstances, but think one of the residents of the home shot Dellairo and McIntyre.
The names of the residents were not released, but police say they are men in their 20s.
Two women with Dellairo and McIntyre are being interviewed by police but have not been charged.
