River Arts will host a concert by students of members of the DaPonte String Quartet at 7 p.m. Saturday at 170 Main St.
Saturday’s concert will feature Sam Sewall, Alex Liva, Mena Han-Lalime, Davis Boardman, Bill Master, Neil Macmillan and Teal Vickery. The program is expected to last about an hour. Admission is free, but donations are welcome.
Dino Liva, of the DaPonte Quartet and a board member of River Arts, is coordinating the monthly concert series featuring local music students.
The performers are all students of DaPonte String Quartet musicians: Dino Liva, Ferdinand Liva, Lydia Forbes, Kirsten Monke. These students range from beginner to quite advanced, and come from throughout the Mid-coast region. They range in age from 6 to mid-50s.
Future concert dates are March 31, April 28 and June 2.
River Arts is a nonprofit arts center, offering a year-round calendar of open juried art shows, classes in art and writing, open studios in the arts, musical programs, poetry readings and other special events at its main gallery in downtown Damariscotta.
