PORTLAND — Rachel Moroney, Eliza Brooks and Annie Kelly each scored three goals as the Brunswick High School girls hockey team rolled to an 11-4 victory over Portland on Thursday at Portland Ice Arena.
The Dragons, 12-3-1 and in first place in the Eastern Heal Point Standings, jumped on top 4-0 through a period.
“Portland scored two goals in the second period to make it 4- 2, but the fifth goal was a big one,” said Brunswick coach Bill Bodwell, whose team visits undefeated Falmouth on Saturday at the Family Ice Center at 8:10 p.m.
Moroney added three assists, with Kelly dishing out two helpers. Sarah Thibeault and Suzannah Smith chipped in one goal apiece, while goaltender Claire Mendes turned aside 17 shots.
Brooks also dished out an assist and Brunswick held a 34-21 shot advantage.
For Portland ( 7- 8), Kylie Dalbec had two goals.
