We arrived back in Maine on Tuesday, and it felt good to be home.

We had a wonderful visit with the grandchildren and we hated to leave. But my wife and I have obligations, and we have to get back to reality.

I was quite surprised to see the newfallen snow on the ground. I heard it fell on Christmas day. How delightful!

Making it a white Christmas would be a perfect conclusion to a wonderful holiday. My only complaint is my driveway had a frozen crusty surface. I guess my neighbors didn’t get the memo.

The news from Mr. Mort, a very important man at the Santa Claus Fund, (our treasurer), let me know we have two more donations to report.

One donation is from the Laureate Omicron Chapter of Beta Sigma Phi for $50. Thank you, members.

Another donation came from Jane Whittaker for $50 in memory Bob and Cynthia Footer. Thank you, Jane.

We also have discovered a slip from Dawn Burton who gave us a donation of several scarves and plush toys. Thank you very much, Dawn.

Dawn also worked very hard to ensure that the package delivery at the Bath Elks location went smoothly. She was in charge of getting the room ready for the arrival of the truckload of toys. She had the room prepared for an orderly distribution of all the boxes. Thank you for your dedication to the Santa Claus Fund.

Tuesday’s donations add $100 to our total. We are now at $39,080.92. That is a fantastic number.

Your response is remarkable. Thank you for all your kindness and generosity. This year’s generous donations will ensure the return of the Santa Claus Fund next year.

If you have been thinking of making a donation to the Santa Claus Fund, it is not too late. Our mail box is open all year long. You can mail your tax-deductible contribution to The Santa Claus Fund Inc., P.O. Box 278, Brunswick, ME 04011.

On Thursday, I plan to share a report on my visit to one of our longtime supporters of the Santa Claus Fund. You will have to wait until Thursday’s edition to find out who. Good night for now.
