Lucas Hare of Raymond was one of three members of the Maine State Police promoted to the rank of detective last week in a ceremony led by Colonel Patrick Fleming. Hare is assigned to criminal division 1 in Gray, having previously patrolled the area as part of Troop B.

Hare, a member of the state police since 2003, was selected as Trooper of the Year in 2008. When presenting Hare with the reward, his superiors noted his dedication to police work and his talent for investigation. Hare previously served as a member of the South Portland Police Department.
