Take a look back in history at the town of Bridgton. This photo from the book, “Bridgton, Maine, 1768-1968,” and published by the Bridgton Historical Society shows the Post Office, W. M. Staples Block erected in 1885, burned in 1898, rebuilt, burned again in 1924 and the March Block built in 1924, later Allen’s Pharmacy and J. T. Bardsley Store; Noone Block, late Gallinari’s, built in 1900. The trees were wrapped to prevent horses from gnawing on them.
