This is the Hancock & Company building on Main Street in Gray, and was built in 1876 by Henry Goff with bricks from his East Gray brickyard. Once was the town’s largest merchandising store, it had a horse shed and grain house at the rear. The Oddfellows organization met on the third floor. A fire in 1921 left the building badly damaged. After the rebuilding, many businesses occupied the store. Courtesy of the newly printed 2008 Gray Historical Society calendar. For information on how to order a copy call 657-4297.
