This spring Dog-Gone Grooming opened its doors in Raymond, located next door to Tailfeathers Upland Store on Route 302. Certified groomer Julie Chouinard opened the store to fulfill a dream that she and her late sister, Dawn Leighton, shared.
“I remember talking with Dawn about opening our own business offering a Grooming Shop and Doggie Day Care.” Chouinard said her sister was murdered May 1, 1998 and it has been her passion to make their dream a reality ever since. A picture of Dawn and her two beloved Dalmatians is in the shop as a tribute to her memory.
Dog-Gone Grooming offers full dog grooming services and prides itself on being a dedicated small shop. The environment is that of low stress and a very friendly atmosphere for all clients, old and new. Chouinard said she is excited to be part of the community and welcomes all to stop in and say hello.
Dog-Gone Grooming will be holding its first annual Halloween Costume Contest from Oct. 26-31. Bring your dog(s) in costume for a picture and they will receive a “trick or treat” surprise.
