Hancock Lumber’s three Eastern White Pine sawmills and six retail locations have earned their Forest Stewardship Council chain of custody certification, making the Hancock entirely council-certified from its timberlands, to their Eastern White Pine sawmills, to the pine in their retail locations across the state.

Hancock Lumber is one of only a small handful of companies across the United States to achieve this high standard from forest floor to retail floor and the only company in the Northeast to achieve this distinction.

“We are very pleased that Hancock Lumber has made the commitment to council certification through their entire supply chain. Although their lands have been under the council certification system for many years, they will now be able to offer finished products to their customers with the council label,” said Katie Miller, communications director for the Forest Stewardship Council, a nonprofit organization dedicated to proper stewardship of the world’s forests.
