The final trail section of the Stevens Brook Trail behind the Magic Lantern and Bridgton Community Center is nearing completion and Lakes Environmental Association needs help to finish the job On Saturday, Oct. 13.

The trail received substantial hiker traffic this summer, but there is still a missing segment in the continuous trail from Highland Lake to Long Lake. On Saturday, the Lakes Environmental Association and the Bridgton Rotary are teaming up to finish the nearly 600 feet of boardwalk that winds through the wetlands next to the river.

Anyone who would like to participate in this important trail project can meet at the Bridgton Community Center parking lot on Depot Street at 9 a.m. Bring a hammer, water, and a willingness to get muddy. For more information, call Bridie McGreavy of the Lakes Environmental Association at 647-8580.
