Tickets are $5 each; three for $10; or seven for $20 and are tax-deductible. To order tickets by mail, send check or money order to the Melanoma Education Foundation Calendar Raffle, P.O. Box 2023, Peabody, MA., 01960. Tickets may also be ordered by credit card by calling (800) 259-1633.

The foundation is also seeking volunteers to sell tickets and distribute skin cancer literature outside of stores on Friday and Saturday, from May 25 to June 30. Volunteers must be at least 18 years old and will work in pairs. Send an e-mail to info@skincheck.org, or call (800) 259-1633, for more information.

More than 500 schools across New England have adopted the Melanoma Foundation’s SkinCheck program, including, locally, Saco Middle School; Bonny Eagle Middle School; Cape Elizabeth High School; Gorham High School; Gorham Middle School; Greely Middle School; Mahoney Middle School in South Portland; Scarborough Middle School; Scarborough High School; Thornton Academy; Westbrook High School; and Windham High School.

The foundation provides a video training to high school and middle school health educators at no cost. The training educates teachers about melanoma and provides them with a lesson plan and materials for teaching their students about it in a single class session.
