Promoting diversity, models male and female, of differing sizes, shapes and ethnicities strutted their stuff Saturday at Scarborough High School’s second annual fashion. Between ticket sales and a raffle, the show raised $2,100, which, according to junior Laura Caryl, was more than double the amount that was raised last year. The money will be split between Girls Inc., a national nonprofit that encourages girls to be strong, smart and bold, and the Student Aid and Assistance Fund, a program at the high school that helps cover the costs of college applications and prom tickets for students in need. Caryl, co-director of the show, said that she got a lot of positive feedback from classmates, despite the fact that they didn’t get the chance to do a dress rehearsal before the show. “The first time they walked with the clothes on was the show,” she said. She was pleased with how everything turned out. “I think it went off so well.”
