It’s budget time in Windham and the school board is deliberating about everything from bus transportation to computers. Eighty years ago, this “conveyance,” as it was referred to, provided transportation to and from schools. This old photo from the archives of the Windham Historical Society has no explanation, but it is believed that one of the bus drivers of the day, Ralph Lowell, actually built this enclosure to keep the children dry – and contained.
