Editor,
I seek elected officials that have a history of demonstrated leadership as a significant factor in my decision to vote for the candidate. Al Austin, who is running for re-election as District III Cumberland County Commissioner is one of those individuals. He is the current Chairman of the Board of Commissioners.
He has worked tirelessly to raise the profile of our important County government and to substantially improve the communication between the 15 municipalities he represents and County government. From the Cumberland County Sheriffs rural patrol, the management of our Cumberland County Civic Center, our important Registry of Deeds, the nearly complete Windham-based Emergency Communication Center, we are becoming increasingly aware of the valuable services our County government delivers efficiently and cost effectively thanks to Al’s communication style and hard work.
I am optimistic that his management experience following 33 years operating a two office real estate company will continue to be increasingly apparent in the oversight representation of the Cumberland County Commissioners, directing policy development to assure the maximum return on our collective investment in our affordable County taxes.
I encourage you to vote for Al Austin for County Commissioner on Nov. 7. He will continue to serve us well.
