Can you spare an hour or two a week, or every other week to make a tremendous difference in the life of a child? Be a positive role model for a child in need…be a mentor.

To find out more information about becoming a mentor or to learn of other volunteer opportunities that could be a one-time activity or an on-going responsibility, please contact Linda Danielson, Sweetser’s volunteer services manager, at 373-3006. Opportunities range from working in an office to assisting in the maintenance department. Training is provided for all volunteers.

Kids needing a mentor include:

Boy, 13, Steep Falls, enjoys the computer, playing basketball, watching TV, swimming and playing.

Boy, 11, Windham, enjoys sports, playing outside and riding his bike.

Boy, 7, Bridgton, likes playing games, sports and bike riding.

Boy, 11, Bridgton, loves to build and play with cars, participates in Cub Scouts and plays video games.

Boy, 14, Casco, enjoys basketball and being outdoors.
