The Naples Public Library Miniature Art Sale and Cookie Walk is scheduled for Nov. 25, the Saturday following Thanksgiving, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.
Talented local artists from the Lake Region have donated small original watercolor paintings for the sale. There will also be many works from Gallery 302 in Bridgton. These lovely works of art represent a wide range of subjects, including lighthouses, landscapes, birch trees, loons and many other Maine themes. There is sure to be something for every taste and dA?©cor.
Artists will be donating paintings that will easily fit into 5×7-inch frames. This will allow shoppers to purchase standard frames at local stores. In addition to donating paintings to the sale, several artists volunteered their time to cut mats. The generosity of the artists is greatly appreciated and will help to make this a successful fundraiser for the library. Miniature matted paintings will be priced at $10 each. Larger paintings will be reasonably priced between $25 and $50.
In addition to the Mini Art Sale, a craft sale and cookie walk are also planned. Bakers from Casco and Naples will be donating fresh batches of their favorite cookies for shoppers to purchase.
Brenda Somers will once again display her beautiful handcrafted, decorative dolls. Somers designs all of the dolls herself and makes them in her attic workshop located in her home in Norway. The lovely fabric dolls are popular collector’s items. There will be a variety of Santas and winter people for the festive season. Crafts by several other local craftsmen will also be available.
The sale is the perfect chance to find a unique gift or one-of-a-kind work of art for holiday gift giving. All proceeds from the Mini Art Sale and Cookie Walk benefit the Naples Public Library.
