The town of Raymond is looking to purchase new recycling bins for the town.
Currently the best deal requires the town to purchase a minimum of 200 bins. To keep costs down selectmen are hoping to partner with any surrounding towns in need of bins. Both towns would receive 100 bins and split the cost.
On Sunday, Oct. 8, at 8 a.m., the selectmen will be walking the property adjacent to the town hall to see if it is a suitable site for a new town hall. They will be attempting to locate any monuments that may be on the property as well as property lines. The old fire house is currently located on this property.
Raymond property tax bills will be mailed later than expected this year. Although no date has been set for sending the letters, the tax payment date is still Oct. 31. Taxpayers have 30 days from the date the letter is mailed to pay before penalties are accrued.
Raymond town representatives attended a meeting with Cumberland County Officials on Tuesday, Sept. 26. They discussed taxes and plans for working with each other in the future. Town Manager Don Willard is in the process of setting up another meeting with the County to again address budgetary concerns. Raymond has still not paid their County taxes due on Sept. 1.
