A Standish man was sentenced in federal district court on Tuesday for his role in four armed robberies of area pharmacies.

According to United States Attorney Paula D. Silsby, District Judge D. Brock Hornby sentenced Michael Frisco, 33, to just under five years in prison followed by three years of supervised release.

In July of this year, Frisco pleaded guilty for his part in the 2004 robberies of Rite Aid pharmacies in Cornish, Naples and Gorham and Community Pharmacy in Gorham.

He assisted his co-defendant, Lee Wilson, 29, of Florida in the robberies that netted the pair 27,330 milligrams of the controlled substance oxycodone.

Frisco acted as the getaway driver in each of the thefts. He also wrote the demand notes and provided Wilson with the weapon, a pellet gun resembling a handgun.

In each of the robberies, Wilson entered the store and passed the pharmacist a note demanding the drug while he wielded the gun.

Investigators were able to track the pair after Wilson left behind a demand note that contained both criminals’ fingerprints.

Wilson was sentenced last August to six and a half years in prison and an additional three years of supervised release. He is also required to pay restitution of nearly $5,800.

The York and Cumberland County Sheriff’s Offices, the Gorham Police Department and the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives were in charge of the investigation.
