Clinic

There will be a flu clinic Nov. 9 from 10 a.m. to noon. This will be held at the new Senior Dining Center on Tandberg Trail. The Windham Health Council will be assisting with the clinic.

Banquet

The Great Council for the Redmen and Pocahontas held their banquet Oct. 28 and on the 29th they held installations. The events were held at the Best Western Hotel in South Portland.

Fair

There will be a fair Nov. 5 from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the community room in the old part of Marblehead. They will be selling home baked food, candy and crafts (lots of knitted items). There will also be raffles.

Veterans

The State of Maine Veterans Advocate, Robin Shepard, will only be at the veterans center the first Wednsday of each month from now on. The time is 9 to 11 a.m. in the morning. This is to assist veterans in applying for benefits, there is no service fee and no appointment is necessary.

Voting

All election day voting in Windham on Nov. 8 will be in the auxiliary gym at Windham High School. The polls will be open from 7 to 8 p.m. Please do not go to the Catholic church or Town Hall/Community Center. If you have any questions please call 892-1900.

Surgery

Liz Wisecup recently had surgery on her ankle. She had the screws and plates removed from the ankle she broke last January.

Marriage

The granddaughter of Ed and Polly Varney, Jennifer Doty, recently married Matt Gill in Hawaii. There will be a reception at a later date in Maine.

Flying

Barbara Millett recently went flying with her granddaughter, Amanda Fish, who was the pilot. They flew over the family homes in Windham, over the High School, North Windham and Sebago Lake. Amanda is a flight instructor for Daniel Webster College. She graduated from there in 2004. They took off from the Portland International Jetport and landed there as well. It was a very special for time Barbara.
