Christ Chapel, formerly of Main Street in Raymond Village and moved to Northern Pines Road for worship in fall of 2003, will be dedictating its new building at 10 a.m. on November 6.
Last April, its original building in the telephone building complex on Main Street was sold and all offices were finally moved to the Northern Pines facility. Renovations have been made to accommodate classrooms and offices as well as construction of a platform in the meeting room now used as a sanctuary.
Advent Christian church officials from North Carolina, New Hampshire and Maine will be participating in the service. The public is invited to attend and tour the facility following the service of dedication.
Christ Chapel began as a Bible study group in Raymond in 1988 and soon developed into a church which located on Main Street. After seeking property to meet the needs of this growing congregation, the Northern Pines Retreat Center, with some land, became available to them. According to Pastor Ray Penney, the founding pastor, this was seen as the answer to the prayers of his flock for a place to expand its ministry and develop the property of Northern Pines.
Sunday worship at this new location overlooking Crescent Lake off Route 85 is open to all each Sunday at 10 a.m.
