Sukanya Mitra is a reporter for the Morning Sentinel. She graduated from Boston University in 2023 with a Master of Science degree in journalism. During her time at BU, she served as the editorial writing director for Strike Magazine Boston, the arts and culture news editor for WTBU News, and interned as a project manager for BU Spark! A native of India, Sukanya now lives in Waterville.

Waterville man who admitted to involvement in terrorist conspiracy now facing assault charge
Xavier J. Pelkey was indicted this week in Somerset County on a count of aggravated assault and authorities say he used a chair to injure another inmate at the county jail, where he was being held prior to pleading guilty to a federal conspiracy charge.
