BATH

Emily Martin rippled the net six times as the Morse High School girls lacrosse team cruised to a 21-5 Kennebec Valley Athletic Conference win over Lincoln Academy on Monday at McMann Field.

Paige Daigle and Noa Sreden each had hat tricks for Morse ( 8- 2), while Amanda Gagne and Karen Yurek notched two each. Daigle, Gagne, Yurek and Emma Warner all dished out two assists.

Warner, Emily Belanger, Isabella Monbouquette, Mae Winglass and Abbie Baker each had a goal to round out the scoring for the Shipbuilders, who converted 21 of 29 total shots.

Lincoln Academy ( 2- 9) goalie Emily Huber made five saves. Lucy Williams led the visiting attack with a hat trick, while Brinkley Harrison and Alexandria Fabiano both scored once.

Zenaide McCarthy and Abby Sreden each had two saves in the cage for Morse.

The Shipbuilders will travel up to Camden Hills for a game on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

BRUNSWICK 3

MESSALONSKEE 13

The host Eagles received seven goals and an assist from leading scorer Lauren Pickett en route to a KVAC win over the Dragons at Thomas College in Waterville.

Brunswick (3-6) will look to end a five-game losing streak on Saturday at home against Mt. Ararat, with the game slated for a 12:30 p.m. start.

Ally Turner chipped in a goal and eight assists for Messalonskee (9-1).

Anna Davis, Jenna Brooks and Lila Solberg scored for Brunswick (3-6). Mikaela Aschbrenner stopped 15 shots.

Baseball

ROCKLAND — Three runs in the first inning weren’t enough for Morse, which fell 10- 4 to Oceanside in KVAC action.

Parker Onorato notched two singles and scored early for Morse (9-4), while Tucker Banger had an RBI single and crossed home once. Tom Warren pitched 1 2/ 3 frames with two strikeouts and two walks.

Oceanside (7-5) spotted the Shipbuilders three runs in the first but came back quickly with six in the second en route to the win. Jack Freeman pitched six innings, allowing four runs (two earned) on four hits, six strikeouts and only two walks to earn the win.

Titus Kaewthong ripped a two-run single in the six-run second, while Colby Dorr had two hits, two RBIs and a run. Michael Dougherty two hits for Oceanside.

Warren, Riley Lamarre, Taylor Shaw and Austin Magliozzi combined for seven earned runs, seven strikeouts and eight walks for Morse, slated to visit Maine Central Institute on Thursday at 4 p.m.

FREEPORT 5

WELLS 5

The Falcons and Warriors settled nothing in eight innings in Western Maine Conference play.

Trailing 4-3, Freeport (3- 8-1) grabbed a 5-4 lead on a two-run double by Spencer Morse, scoring Jack Sawicki and Toby Holt.

But, Andrew Skeats tied the game for Wells (8-4-1) with a two-out, RBI single in the bottom of the seventh.

Holt had three singles for Freeport, which visits Greely on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

CAMDEN 3

MT. ARARAT 2

The Windjammers rallied from an early deficit to edge Mt. Ararat in KVAC play in Topsham.

The Eagles fell to 6-6 and host Edward Little on Wednesday (4 p.m.).

Mt. Ararat jumped ahead 2- 0 in the opening frame, with Nick Merrill and Sam Alexander lifting sacrifice fly balls to pick up an RBI each.

But, Camden Hills scored a run in the fifth and two more in the sixth to rally. Owen Hilt had two singles for the Windjammers.

Harrison Looke went the distance for the visitors, striking out eight, walking four and permitting five hits.

Hunter Lohr singled twice for Mt. Ararat, with Cam Cox, Kaileb Hawkes and Ryan Mello each singling.

Hawkes went six on the hill, with Cam Grant throwing an inning. They combined on six strikeouts, eight hits and one walk.

TOPSHAM — Mt. Ararat ended a two-game slide with a 12-7 KVAC win over Camden Hills.

Alana Weaver had three hits, scored two runs and drove in run for the Eagles, who improved to 9-3 and hosts Edward Little on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Zoe Stilphen, Kayleigh Temple and Kate Guerin each picked up two hits in the win, with Holly Temple and Katelyn Cox each adding RBI doubles.

Weaver and Holly Temple combined on the mound for eight hits, four strikeouts and two walks.

Nicole Brown had two hits for the Windjammers.

OCEANSIDE 4

The Shipbuilders got burned by three runs in the fifth inning as Oceanside held on to take the KVAC matchup at Rockland.

Casey Pine’s two-run homer highlighted the frame for the Mariners (10-2), who also got a double from Kalin Grover and singles from Abby Veilleux, Alexis Mazurck and Lauren Hatch. Dory Kulis had four strikeouts and walked two in a complete game for Morse, which will travel to MCI on Thursday at 4 p.m.

Marissa Parks and Olivia Potter each notched a single and an RBI for the Shipbuilders, with Hope Faulkingham, Maddie Mitchell and Kulis singling as well.

Oceanside’s Chloe Jones fanned 12 batters from the circle.

Sadie Waterman struck out five as the host Raiders (9-3) earned an MVC win over the Greyhounds, who fell to 9-4 and visit Dirigo on Wednesday at 4 p.m.

Kiera Young scored three times and doubled, one of her three hits for Oak Hill.
