BRUNSWICK

On Monday at 7 p.m., Curtis Memorial Library and the Brunswick Browntail Moth Action Group will host a panel discussion to bring interested citizens up to date on the Browntail Moth infestation.

A panel of experts will look at the infestation itself, the role of planning for addressing the problems and options for action. The program will take place in the library’s Morrell Meeting Room, at 23 Pleasant St in Brunswick, Maine.

Panelists include:

• Jay Astle, Brunswick Town Arborist/ Parks and Facilities Manager, will cover Brunswick’s actions to control BTM on public properties, government limitations of application of pesticides, and his observations on the infestation.

• Ellen Baum, Bowdoinham Browntail Moth Task Force, chair, will recap Bowdoinham’s BTM management initiatives including action planning.

• Bob Harroff, Brunswick BTM action group member, will summarize the range of possible actions this year along with their benefits and consequences

• Charlene Donahue, State Entomologist, will give an overview of the BTM and the progression of the infestation.

• Sarah Brayman, Town Council member, Brunswick, will talk about the political process and the importance of citizen involvement — and planning
