PHIPPSBURG — Anna B.’s Barn Shop on Route 209 in Phippsburg recently opened its doors offering antiques and artcrafts which reflect the life of a hardworking farm woman, Anna Barbara, the grandmother of the owner.
Canning jars, quilts, enamelware, teacups and teapots, along with vintage dishes and glassware, are all featured in the Barn Shop. These items are reminiscent of a simpler life, the world in which Anna Barbara lived, with time for board games, books and crafts.
In celebration of grandmothers, Anna B.’s is holding a contest for the most unique grandmom story. All are welcome to enter on a 4-by-6-inch index card with a paragraph on why their grandmother is unforgettable. All entries will be featured in the shop on the inside of the barn door. Entries will be accepted until Sept. 1.
Stories can be dropped off at the shop Thursday through Monday (10 a.m. to 5 p.m.) or mail them to Anna B.’s, 6 Parker Head Road, Phippsburg, ME 04562.
Gift certificates to the shop will be awarded to three winners on Grandparents Days, Sept. 10. Contest winners do not need to be present and all three winners will be notified.

We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
