WISCASSET

At the 10 a.m. service on Sept. 10 at First Congregational Church of Wiscasset, the congregation will welcome Pastor Josh Fitterling.

The public is not only invited to the 10 a.m. service, but also to return at 4 p.m. when Pastor Fitterling will be installed as the new minister for the church. Conference Minister Deb Blood will preach and several community members will help lead worship during his installation service.

Following the installation service, the congregation will host a pot luck dinner to celebrate the beginning of Pastor Fitterling’s ministry.

Fitterling began his life of ministry while still in High School, preaching to his home congregation. He became the stated supply minister for the New Jerusalem Zion UCC in Lenhartsville, Pennsylvania, while he was attending Lancaster Theological Seminary. He followed with a Pastoral Residency Program while serving the Wellesley Village Church in Wellesley, Massachusetts.

The Wiscasset Search Committee looked for two years before discovering Fitterling, who began his ministry in Wiscasset in late spring and has become an active member of the local community. He’s participated in Art Walks, the 4th of July parade, and as a member of the Chamber of Commerce and the Wiscasset Community Center.

The First Congregational Church welcomes Fitterling as he continues his life of service to his new community. A meal that will follow Fitterling’s installation service.
