BRUNSWICK — Friends of Merrymeeting Bay’s first presentation of their 21st annual Winter Speaker Series; Be Tick Smart, features Emer Smith, field epidemiologist with the Maine Center for Disease Control. The event, takes place at Curtis Memorial Library in Brunswick, Wednesday Oct. 11 at 7 p.m. Smith investigates cases of reportable infectious diseases and conditions, including various vector-borne illnesses.
Participants learn about ticks, common tick-borne diseases, how frequently they actually occur, and what you can do to prevent ticks from affecting you and your loved ones.
FOMB hosts their Winter Speaker Series October- May, the second Wednesday of each month.
