LEWISTON — The Brunswick Junior High School eighth-grade girls basketball team fell to Lewiston, 38-23, on Thursday.
The Blue Demons outscored Brunswick, 8-1 in the opening frame and 15-7 in the second for a 23-8 halftime lead. The advantage grew to 32-14 after three.
Lexi Guptil paced Brunswick (2-3) with nine points, with Grace Clendening adding eight. Solid defensive efforts came from Portia Woestman and Nadia Sinsmyr.
Leading the way for Lewiston (5-1) was Hannah Chaput with 16.
At the foul line, the Huskies were 13-of-22, while Lewiston finished 7-for-17. they were 7-17.
