LEWISTON — Nina Davenport scored a game-high 19 points, Bernadette Connors delivered an outstanding all-around performance, and the Bates College women’s basketball team defeated Wesleyan University, 59-53, Saturday afternoon at Alumni Gym.
Bates (6-11, 2-4 NESCAC) hit 7-of-22 from beyond the arc.
Davenport, who is from Freeport, hit three triples on the afternoon and pulled down seven rebounds. She also led the way with three steals on the defensive end.
Former Brunswick High School standout Lyse Henshaw gave the Bobcats the lead for good with a threepoint play late in the first half.
On Friday, Bates fell to Connecticut College, 70-53.
Davenport shook off a tough start to record 12 points in the loss. Henshaw added 10 points, including three 3-pointers.
