BRUNSWICK — The Mid Coast Hospital Auxiliary will be hosting its annual “Sweets for the Sweet” Valentine bake sale on Feb. 12, from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m., at the Mid Coast Hospital Café, 123 Medical Center Drive. Proceeds from this fundraiser benefit hospital projects and Healthcare Career Scholarships, a program to support the future growth of a high-quality medical workforce.
The sale features homemade fudge and candies, as well as a variety of baked items including breads, scones, cakes, pies, tarts and cookies. Assorted plates are available, as well as treats packaged in small amounts, ready for gift giving.
Each year the Mid Coast Hospital Auxiliary awards approximately $40,000 in healthcare scholarships to local high school and college students, or to hospital employees furthering their education at four year colleges, technical schools or specialized training centers. Applications for scholarships are due April 15, and may be found at midcoasthealth.com/volunteer.
Those interested in donating homemade goods for the event may drop off items at the Mid Coast Hospital Volunteer Office, from 8:30 a.m. to 5 p.m. Feb. 10-11. More information is available by calling (207) 373-6015, or emailing scoray@midcoasthealth.com.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
