A PAINTING by Orr’s Island painter Brad McFadden is now hanging on loan in the new reading room at the Orr’s Island Library. McFadden finished the painting, a copy of N.C. Wyeth’s “Wreck of the Covenant,” several years ago. It depicts a scene from Robert Louis Stevenson’s book “Kidnapped,” which Wyeth illustrated. The Orr’s Island Library owns an original copy of the book, which is currently on display with the artwork. The library’s new reading room opened to the public on Dec. 10, 2011.
