TOPSHAM — The Mt. Ararat High School jayvee girls basketball team split two recent contests.
The Eagles lost to Edward Little 38-31, trailing 17-8, 23-13 and 32-20 at the breaks.
Leading scorer for Mt. Ararat was Olivia Swan with eight points, while Priscilla Whitney and Brigette Milliken played well
At the line, Mt. Ararat was 11 of 17 and EL four of 10.
At Oxford Hills on Tuesday, the Eagles prevailed, 32-21.
Mt. Ararat trailed 10-2 after one quarter, but led 14-12 at the half and 27-18 after three quarters.
Lyndsey Cornelison and Rebecca Schuman had 10 points each, and Katie Labbay six. Standout defensive efforts were turned in by Schuman, Labbay and Christine Levesque.
