ATTLEBORO, Mass. (AP) — Police have arrested a stripper in connection with a bank robbery in Rhode Island as she was lying in a Massachusetts motel room bed with cash possibly linked to the holdup.
The Sun Chronicle reports that 27-year-old Shannon Sampson is charged with second-degree robbery stemming from the holdup Tuesday of a Santander Bank branch in Cranston.
Sampson agreed to waive extradition during an appearance in a Massachusetts court Wednesday.
She was apprehended at around 3 a.m. Wednesday after police kicked in the door of her Attleboro motel room.
Police said Sampson and a male companion paid for the room with two $100 bills. A total of $492 was found in the room.
In court documents, Sampson listed her occupation as a dancer at a Providence strip club.
Her lawyer declined comment.
