NORTH ANSON — Seventh seeded Carrabec jumped out to an 11-3 first-quarter lead and pulled away from there for a 58-38 Class C South girls high school basketball preliminary win over No. 10 Hyde on Wednesday.
The Cobras (12-7) will face No. 2 Boothbay in the quarterfinals at the Augusta Civic Center, while the Phoenix finished 6-12.
Carrabec led 31-13 by halftime and 47-20 after three.
Kate Stevens paced the win with 17 points, with Liberty Chestnut adding 14, Mickayla Willette 12 and Bailey Dunphy with 10.
Diamond Brown led Hyde with 14 points, followed by Lutes Bartlett with 13.
