BRUNSWICK — The Bowdoin College men’s and women’s squash teams learned their opening round opponents for the 2012 New England Small College Athletic Conference Tournament this upcoming weekend at Trinity College.
The Polar Bear men (10-11) earned a first-round bye and are seeded fifth in the tournament. They will face fourthseeded Bates College in the quarterfinals Saturday at 9 a.m.
The Bowdoin women (9-9) are seeded seventh and will take on 10th-seeded Connecticut College at 7 p.m. tonight in the opening round.
In the men’s bracket, Bowdoin will look for a measure of revenge. Bates ousted the Polar Bears from the championship bracket in 2011, 7-2, and posted a similar score against Bowdoin on Jan. 25.
On the women’s side, the Polar Bears won their regular season meeting against the Camels, 7-2, on Dec. 4. Bowdoin went 4- 2 at the Maine Event last weekend and will look to advance to the quarterfinals on Saturday at 1:30 p.m. against second-seeded Bates.
