A release from the university describes the concert as follows:
Boogie 2 Shooz took shape as an electro acoustic duo in the early 1990s. Boogie 2 Shooz members Pamela Jenkins and Patti-Jean Cousens are singers and instrumentalists who share a commitment to foster and perpetuate the work of women in music, while always serving their audience with diverse musical styles laced with knee-slapping fun.
Boogie 2 Shooz combines saxophones, flute, percussion and keyboards with music technology to create a full ensemble sound. They bring torch ballads, fiery and soulful renditions of the blues, funk-flavored R&B, lush jazz and spirited Latin to every performance
From USO work, festivals and cruise ships, to hometown lounges and concert venues, Boogie 2 Shooz’ tenure as entertainers allows them to touch a broad mix of ages and musical tastes.
Tickets cost $10 for adults or $5 for students. Children age 12 and younger get in free. Tickets are available at Pat’s Pizza in Augusta, Apple Valley Books in Winthrop, and at the door.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
