DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. — The University of Southern Maine women’s track and field team concluded its spring Florida swing with an impressive fourth-place finish at the ERAU Spikes Classic.

The Huskies compiled 92.50 points during the two- day event. Bethune- Cookman University took the team title with 206 points, followed by host Embry Riddle with 104 and University of North Florida with 97.

During the two- day meet, nine Southern Maine competitors met qualifying standards for next month’s New England Division III Championships. Junior Liz O’Neal ( Brunswick/ Mt. Ararat) ran a leg of the Huskies’ 4 x 100 relay, with USM finishing in 49.90. The time qualified the Huskies.

USM is back in action this upcoming Saturday at the Bowdoin College Invitational.
