Savory Maine’s next open mic will start earlier than usual and will benefit the Maine Chapter of the March of Dimes in memory of Garron Adam Martin and will take place at Savory Maine, 11 Water St., Damariscotta April 13 from 5:30-8:30 p.m.
Doors will open at 5 p.m. for open mic performer sign up and for food including quiches, haddock chowder, and soup. Beer, wine, meads, coffee and tea. Refreshments and food will be available for purchase all night.
The open mic will run from 5:30-8:30 p.m., with a 15- minute break. The open mic is a series of eight-minute, two-song slots, and is designed for individual or small group performances: musicians, singers, poets and other performers to sign up and demonstrate their talents.
Performers should be prepared to walk up on stage and set up quickly. To be assured of a slot, performers should show up to sign up promptly from 5 to 5:30 p.m.
Savory Maine is open five days a week, serving lunch and dinner from 11 a.m. to 8 p.m. The restaurant is closed Tuesday and Wednesday except for special events, such as the open mic.
