BRUNSWICK — Carolyn Gorajek scored five goals with three assists as the Bowdoin College women’s lacrosse team prevailed over Bates on Wednesday evening, 12-10.
The 11th-ranked Polar Bears improved to 4-2 (3-1 NESCAC), while the 19th-ranked Bobcats fell to 3-4 (1-4 NESCAC).
In addition to Gorajek’s eight points, Bowdoin got two goals from Elizabeth Clegg and a goal and two assists from Betsy Sachs. Tara Connolly made 11 saves for the Polar Bears.
Bates received four goals and two assists from Joan O’Neill, while Soohee Yoon and Jenna Dannis had two goals apiece. Eloise O’Connor made three saves in the loss.
Bates held a 24-17 edge in shots and won 15 of 24 draw controls. Molly Paduda led Bowdoin with three groundballs and three draw controls. The Polar Bears converted on four-of-five free position attempts for the contest.
