BRUNSWICK — A 44-year-old Brunswick woman under indictment for aggravated trafficking in scheduled drugs was arrested again Saturday morning on a number of drug-related charges.
Lena Pelkey, 44, whose address was listed as 225 Gurnet Road as of Oct. 12, remains in Cumberland County Jail this morning, held on $5,000 cash bail.
Brunswick police arrested Pelkey at the Days Inn on Bath Road at 8:30 a.m. Saturday after allegedly finding her in possession of at least 11 hypodermic needles and “a wide variety of prescription medications” for which she had no prescription, Brunswick Police Sgt. Russ Wrede said today.
In late September, the Maine Drug Enforcement Agency, working with the Brunswick and Bath police departments and the Sagadahoc County Sheriff ’s Department, charged Pelkey with aggravated trafficking in crack cocaine as part of an ongoing crack ring in the area, Brunswick Police Detective Rich Cutliffe said at the time.
Pelkey was also charged Saturday with violation of conditions of release and the civil charge of possession of marijuana. She is scheduled to appear in West Bath District Court on June 19.
