AUGUSTA (AP) — Gov. Paul LePage is appointing deputy finance chief Richard Rosen to serve as acting head of the department.
The Republican governor said Thursday that Rosen will take over for Department of Administrative and Financial Services Commissioner Sawin Millett, who is stepping down at the end of the month after spending decades in state government.
Rosen has been serving as deputy commissioner of Finance since February. He also lead the Governor’s Office of Policy and Management and spent four terms in the state Senate and three terms in the House.
Millett, who worked under five Maine governors, announced last month that he was retiring to spend more time with his family.

We believe it's important to offer commenting on certain stories as a benefit to our readers. At its best, our comments sections can be a productive platform for readers to engage with our journalism, offer thoughts on coverage and issues, and drive conversation in a respectful, solutions-based way. It's a form of open discourse that can be useful to our community, public officials, journalists and others.
We do not enable comments on everything — exceptions include most crime stories, and coverage involving personal tragedy or sensitive issues that invite personal attacks instead of thoughtful discussion.
