PORTLAND
A New Gloucester man was sentenced in U.S. District Court on April 25 to serve to 25 years in prison for production and possession of child pornography. Lisbon police assisted in the investigation that led to his arrest and conviction.
According to a release issued April 25 by the U.S. Attorney District of Maine, 22-year-old Christopher Veazie of New Gloucester was sentenced by Judge George Z. Singal to 25 years of imprisonment, to be followed by 15 years of supervised release.
Veazie pleaded guilty in December 2011 to charges of production of child pornography and possession of child pornography.
According to court records, in 2011 Veazie possessed more than 2,000 still images and more than 400 video images containing child pornography on his laptop computer. Among the images were those of a 4-year-old boy who was known to Veazie and who Veazie had filmed while sexually abusing him.
The investigation was conducted by the Lisbon Police Department, the Maine State Police and the U.S. Secret Service.
