Senior Jordan Edgett went 2- for-3 with a double, two RBIs and the game-winning hit to help the Polar Bears (26-19) keep their season alive and advance to another elimination game today.
Bowdoin was to face Western New England at 10 a.m. If the Polar Bears win, they return to the field tonight at 7:45 p.m.
The NCAA win is the first in school history for Bowdoin, which are making their secondever appearance in the Division III Tournament.
USM finished 27-19.
Bowdoin reliever Henry Van Zant punched out the side swinging in the seventh and retired nine of his final 10 batters to shut down the Huskies and help the Polar Bears stave off elimination.
